5 Latino players named to Major League Baseball's Team of the Month

Latino players continue to make their mark in 2023. MLB announced the Team of the Month in May and 5 Latino players entered the lineup.

The 5 players are: Salvador Perez for the Kansas City Royals as a catcher Juan Soto of the San Diego Padres as Right Fielder, Lourdes Gourriel Jr. of the Arizona Diamondbacks in Left Field, Jorge Soler of the Miami Marlins as Designated Hitter and Camilo Doval of the San Francisco Giants for best reliever.

Salvador Perez: the Venezuelan catcher had a .302 batting average with 29 hits, 9 home runs, 19 RBI and 18 runs scored in 24 games last month.

Juan Soto: The Dominican from the Padres posted a .333 batting average with 29 hits, 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 13 runs scored in 26 games in May.

Lourdes Gourriel Jr.: The Cuban batted .352 with 32 hits, 8 home runs, 18 RBI and 18 runs scored in 24 games in May.

Jorge Soler: The Cuban hit .271 with 29 hits, 12 home runs, 25 RBI and 20 runs scored in 27 games last month.

Camilo Doval. The San Francisco Giants reliever finished with a 1.32 ERA, 23 strikeouts and 11 saves in 14 appearances last month.
