Few are the stars of Pep Guardiola’s historic FC Barcelona that are still active. Little by little, those footballers who got used to glory in the Blaugrana team have been retiring. But Andrés Iniesta’s time has not yet arrived. This was stated in his departure from the Vissel Kobe club.

Andrés Iniesta is 39 years old and was active in Japanese football. However, the Spaniard had been relegated to the substitute bench in the club’s recent games. This was not to the liking of the world champion and decided to step aside. The Spaniard put an end to his adventure with Vissel Kobe.

“I really want to continue playing, to continue competing, but sometimes the paths separate and, in this case, the coach’s priorities are different; I respect and accept it (…) Seeing my sporting situation and the desire I have to continue playing, we have decided by mutual agreement that the best thing was to find a way out, ”Iniesta explained in a statement.

It’s always hard to say goodbye. I can only thank everyone for what I have experienced these 5 years in Japan. It has been an adventure that I will remember forever and in which I have learned and grown a lot. Thank you! ❤️ Next June 6 I hope to say goodbye to all the Japanese fans… pic.twitter.com/TmODPBhcC3

MLS and Liga MX emerge as alternatives

The Mediotiempo portal raised the possibility of Andrés Iniesta reaching a club in La Liga MX or MLS. It is worth remembering that the American tournament has opened the doors to footballers who are going through the final moments of their careers, such as David Villa, Tierry Henry or more recently with Giorgio Chiellini and Gareth Bale. Liga MX is not far behind and reminds us of the acquisition of Ronaldinho on behalf of the Gallos Blancos de Querétaro.

“I want to continue playing soccer, I feel capable. Closing this stage we will see what options there may be. I would like to finish my career playing, and that’s what I want to try. Here that part is being complicated, ”he added.

Andres Iniesta closed his time in Japanese football with 133 matches played. During that number of matches, the Spanish he scored 25 goals and conceded 26 assists.
