Helen Ochoa became the last winner of the golden knife in ‘Top Chef VIP 2’ by cooking a “Greek Cake on the border”, which combined typical flavors of Mexico and Greece and which allowed her to receive great congratulations from all three judges.
The night began with a challenge in pairs to qualify for the test that would define the winner of this recognition. This first challenge consisted of making an ice cream with somewhat exotic flavors and the Mexican had to make a ginger one with John Paul Gil.
They both used strawberry to give the ginger more flavor and the children who accompanied the chefs for this test loved it as much as they did and made it to the final test, which they accompanied them to. Jesús More, Eduardo Barquín, Sebastián Villalobos and Alana Lliteras.
This second challenge consisted of preparing a fusion dish to combine elements of the cuisine of Spain, France, India, Japan, Greece or Vietnam with typical flavors of Latin America, in 60 minutes and with the open market.
In short, Helen Ochoa’s dish received applause from everyone because it perfectly blended Mexican and Greek flavors. even the chef Antony deLivier He commented that it reminded him of certain gisos from the houses of Greek people with whom he came to work.
With this great victory now, he must fight next Friday to make his team win so that he is not at risk of elimination and can save up to three teammates, although if he needs to, he could also avoid experiencing the elimination challenge.
