AEK Athensled by the former Chivas de Guadalajara coach, Matias Almeidafaced the Paok in a frenetic match at the Panthessaliko Stadio. The set of “Pelado” won 2-0 to their rival and they won the Greek Cup. The Mexican Orbelín Pineda and the Argentine strategist were fundamental pieces of the AEK double.

The club of the Aztec Orbelín Pineda sought to close their participation in the season with a flourish. The Mexican team sought to demonstrate that the Greek Super League championship was not a product of chancebut during the process of the game things did not go in the best way.

AEK Athens would receive an expulsion after six minutes of the game. The winger Lazaros Rota stayed as the last man in Paok’s attack and held his rival. This sent him directly to the showers and conditioned a duel that in the previous one looked very even.

However, football did its thing. At minute 26 and through a stopped ball, Harold Moukoudi took advantage of a rejection that was left in the area and finished off to put Matías Ameida’s team ahead.

As a consequence of the numerical inferiority and the advantage on the scoreboard, the Argentine team delayed their lines to protect their defensive sector and take care of the advantage. However, Paok did not find the ideal paths to reach Cican Stankovic’s goal. With 20 minutes to go before the game ended, Paok had only finished off 2 times on goal.

Despite the fact that Paok tilted the court and kept a possession of up to 73%the club’s attacks were not forceful enough to bother the defensive block that “Pelado” put together after the expulsion of his player.

Already in added time and with all the Paok turned to attack, Matías Almeyda’s team would show off their effectiveness in front of the goal. I would reach 90+2 Atneas’s second shot on goal for AEK in the entire match. This second intervention also went to the networks of Dominik Kotarski’s goal. The goal that would sentence the result was executed by Paolo Fernandes.

Orbelín Pineda played 61 minutes and played a fundamental role in maintaining order in midfield after the early expulsion of the winger Lazaros Rota. The Mexican soccer player and Matías Almeyda have conquered soccer in Greece. The Aztec and the former Chivas de Guadalajara coach have lifted two trophies this season.
