Kentucky man shot his roommate in the buttocks for eating the last Hot Pocket

The Louisville, Kentucky, Metropolitan Police Department reported that over the weekend a man was arrested who shot his roommate because he ate the last Hot Pocket that they had at home.

The victim, who has not been identified, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

Clifton Williams, 64, was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with second degree assaultthe police said.

On Monday, he pleaded not guilty, according to NBC News affiliate WAVE of Louisville.

According to a police subpoena, the two roommates got into a physical fight over the frozen sandwich.

“Mr. Williams got angry because he ate the last Hot Pocket,” the citation states, adding that he allegedly “started throwing chips” at his partner.

The victim tried to fight back and threatened Williams, but Williams took a gun and followed him out of the room, where he shot him in the buttocksaccording to the police document.

Williams is scheduled to return to court on May 30 for a preliminary hearing.

Under Kentucky law, a person convicted of second degree assault can be sentenced to 5 to 10 years in prison.

The state defines a convicted second-degree assault as someone who “intentionally causes bodily harm to another person by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.”

The Monday in the afternoon, A Kentucky deputy sheriff’s officer was shot and killed during a traffic stop by someone who fled before being arrested.

Scott County Deputy Sheriff Caleb Conley died after being shot during a traffic stop on Interstate 75 near Georgetown shortly before 5 pm.

Sheriff Tony Hampton reported at a news conference that the shooter fled the scene.

A state police team is investigating the shooting at the request of the sheriff’s office.authorities said.
