The episode of Vinicíus Jr. in Mestalla continues to generate a blister and on this occasion it was Javier Aguirrethe Mexican DT of Majorcawho exposed his position and is of total solidarity and support against discriminatory demonstrations like this.

In a press conference this Wednesday, the “Basque” made it clear that he joins “to all voices” that condemn racist chants, such as those that targeted the Real Madrid player a few days ago and launched his proposal to combat them.

“When racist or homophobic shouts or insults of any kind arise, we must stop and leave; the only way that we all understand the seriousness of the matter“, he explained.

Aguirre pointed out the importance of taking action against these behaviors before there are physical attacks and situations that could end in tragedy.

“It seems to me that We are on time. No misfortune has happened that I can remember outside the stadium, the players or the fans. You have to cut your losses and it is the best option, that we all unite. It is played in April, if you want, but this game is not played today; then it would be an important wake-up call,” he said in the conference prior to the match between Mallorca and Valencia, whose most recent match against Real Madrid was where the controversy over the behavior of the fans at Mestalla exploded.

Finally, when he was asked if he considered that Spain was a racist country and if he had been the victim of similar attacks, he denied it and mentioned that he never had to suffer ridicule or insults, although he remembered that he is the son of Spaniards.

“Spain is not a racist country, I am the son of Spaniards and they never told me anything at all,” he said.

“In the teams that I have managed I do not remember any similar image, the normal thing, come on, when you arrive by bus and the local fans do not welcome you with a red carpet, they make that famous gesture with their finger, but that happens in China or in the United Arab Emirates”, he concluded.

Javier Aguirre and Mallorca, which is already mathematically safe from relegation, will receive Valencia this Thursday at the Iberostar Stadium, in a match corresponding to the penultimate date of the Spanish championship.
