President Joe Biden mocked Wednesday the official presidential campaign announcement for the 2024 election the Republican Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantiswhose attempt to do so in Twitter Spaces next to the businessman Elon Musk it was marred by audio issues.

“This link works,” Biden posted on his personal Twitter account, linking to a donation page for his campaign.

Biden sent the tweet as DeSantis was trying to launch his new election campaign in the interview with Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Twitter Spaces, and hundreds of thousands of people had tuned in to listen but found that the transmission had problems with the audio.

Apparently, the social networking site’s servers were overloaded and crashed repeatedly. Twenty minutes into the “broadcast”, DeSantis had still not been heard, although Twitter staff could be heard lamenting the situation.

Other DeSantis rivals had already questioned why the governor was making his announcement on Twitter Spaces and mocked DeSantis’ issues related to the launch as well.

“Ron DeSantis’ failed campaign ad is another example of why he’s just not up to the job,” said Karoline Leavitt, a spokeswoman for Donald Trump’s super PAC.

Shortly before the launch of Twitter Spaces, DeSantis posted a video officially announcing his run for president.

“We need the courage to lead and the strength to win,” DeSantis said in his pitch video. “I’m Ron DeSantis and I’m running for president to lead our great American comeback.”

Trump is not DeSantis’ only competition for the Republican nomination for President in the 2024 election. Several other candidates have already entered the race, including the former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley, former governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinsonbusinessman Vivek Ramaswamy and the senator Tim Scottwho announced his 2024 campaign just two days ago.
