The tragedy that involves the death of 40 immigrants in a migrant processing center in Mexico in a fire seems to be growing with the passing of the hoursbecause in addition to the videos of the tragic moment, it was announced that the Forensic Medical Service is exceeded.
In the face of the chaos, César Jauregui Moreno, Attorney General of Chihuahua, reported that the bodies of the migrants killed in the fire at the National Institute of Migration (INM) They will be stored in a refrigerated trailer.
The prosecutor added that the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) is working at full capacity, while he said that the investigation is in charge of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).
Notably It is not the first time that this type of alternatives occurs in the country, mainly due to the violence that plagues various regions, where the number of deaths exceeds the spaces available to the authorities.
One of the most notorious scandals occurred in 2018, when the presence of a fetid odor alerted the residents of the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, in the Mexican state of Jalisco, that something was not right.
The residents of the area alerted the authorities to the presence of a vehicle from whose interior the smell came, without imagining that it was actually part of the forensic work in the area.
It was a refrigerated trailer inside which there were more than 150 corpses. Despite the notice, the vehicle remained in place for more than 12 hours.
Because the morgues in the neighboring city of Guadalajara were full, the container that traveled through at least three municipalities was rented before reaching the official facilities.
