Two shootings in Arkansas leave 2 dead and 5 injured

At least two people were killed and five injured in two shootings that occurred last Sunday night in the city of Little Rockin the state of Arkansas, police sources reported today.

The Little Rock police explained in a message on Twitter that they have opened an official investigation after the shootings that occurred on two sections of the same street and almost simultaneously.

It is also investigating whether the events, which took place on Asher Avenue in the west of the city, are related.

Police officers were alerted at about 9:25 p.m. local time Sunday (0225 GMT Monday) that two people were injured in a shooting near the intersection of Asher and University avenues.

“Moments later, near Asher Avenue and Adams Street, several people were shot resulting in two homicides”, while three others suffered injuries, authorities said.

Police have not provided details on the identity of the deceased or the condition of the injured.
