From internal combustion to electrification. That is the step that manufacturers in the automotive market plan to take by 2050. Of course, little by little since changing an operating system is not so easy, but there is no doubt that this will be the way of the industry for the next years.

However, Polestar has a slight advantage: since its inception it has produced electrified cars, therefore its operation already has the necessary standards to automatically adapt to this change. Now, after the Polestar 2 comes its successor, which generates great expectations due to its 510 horsepower.

The Polestar 3 has been hailed as the company’s attempt to redefine the “SUV of the electric age”, configured to offer an experience beyond driving, as well as demonstrating that power is not only derived from fossil fuels, but also The electric powertrains also stand out in that regard.

A new Polestar

The car was officially presented on October 12, 2022 in Copenhagen, Denmark, ushering in the new SUV of the Swedish brand that has been assembled on a new fully electric technology base developed and shared with Volvo Cars, where the elements technologies will stand out according to the company.

Mechanically it will be capable of developing 380 kW (510 hp) along with a maximum torque of 910 Nm as long as it equips the optional Performance Pack, which adds characteristic Swedish Polestar golden details on the valve covers, seat belts and a laser etched interior light strip.

“The car is this instant ability to transform from a comfortable cruiser to a sharp, agile performance car in the blink of an eye, making the Polestar 3 special as an electric performance SUV,” says Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar.

Finally, the first vehicle with new 100% electric technology developed by Volvo Cars is expected to increase its manufacturing production in the middle of this year, where the first units would have a departure date: last quarter of 2023.
