Xavier López, Chabelo, was in danger of death four times throughout his 88 years of life and managed to survive. However, this was not the case in the final battle on March 25, 2023, as he died of abdominal complications.
It was about 45 years ago when the presenter almost lost his life, because he was poisoned by eating an expired almond, the severity of his discomfort was such that his heart stopped for a minute and a half, because when the aforementioned seeds decompose they produce substances which when entering the body generate cyanide.
“I saw my life from beginning to end. I witnessed my wake with my mother and sisters next to my coffin. There I was, inside. Suddenly, the image became a circle losing itself in infinity, ”said the presenter at the time.
“I started to pray the Our Father because I knew I was dying. The doctor who treated me, they say, hit my chest and injected me with adrenaline. I came back to life, ”he added to his 70 years.
Years later, in 2008, when the driver was checking his vehicle, another passed at high speed and ran over him, causing sprains, two rib fractures, back injuries and eye damage.
This made him lose the ability to coordinate and maintain muscle rigidity, which is why Chabelo left motorcycling.
Xavier López suffered from cancer
In 2020, Xavier López suffered from cancer, as they found a tumor in his digestive tract that was successfully treated with chemotherapy.
Two years later, the television producer Carla Estrada it spread that Chabelo had broken his arm, but it had no major consequences.
