Powerball: Hispanic $2.04 billion jackpot winner buys $4 million residence in Altadena

Days after acquiring a mansion in the Hollywood Hills for $25.5 million, Hispanic Edwin Castro, winner of the historic prize of $2.040 million dollars in the Powerball lottery, acquired a second luxury residence for $4 million dollars, in Altadena.

According to the specialized real estate publication Dirt.com. Castro bought a second property not far from Joe’s Service Center gas station where you bought the winning Powerball ticket.

The report said that the Hispanic acquired a property located in the 2100 block of Midlothian Drive, in Altadena, which has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The publication reported that the Japanese-inspired residence was built in 1953 on a 0.68-acre lot, covering 4,361 square feet.

Apparently, Castro closed the deal on March 9, just 8 days after he completed the purchase of the Rakish Mansionin the Hollywood Hills.

In November 2022, Castro was winner of a $2.04 billion prize in the Powerball drawing, the largest in the history of the United States lottery. The Hispanic decided to receive the bag in cash, with an amount of $997.6 million dollars.

The residence has parking for two vehicles with a solar energy systemas well as a charging station for electric cars.

Castro, 30, grew up in Los Angeles, was an outstanding Boy Scout and athlete while a student at Crescenta Valley High School.

Before becoming a billionaire, Castro worked from March to August 2011 as a vintage car mechanic H&H Flatheads Forever, in La Crescenta8 miles from the gas station where you purchased the Powerball ticket.

Castro studied architecture at Woodbury University and during the summer of 2014 worked at RTKL Associates in downtown Los Angeles.
