Suffering a kidnapping in your own home is a dramatic situation that unfortunately can occur in Mexico, since violence is a terrible constant. Some states have higher rates and no one is safe there, as evidenced by the kidnapping of the US citizen María del Carmen Lópezwho was deprived of her liberty in her own home in the state of Colima.
Although the news was barely released, the woman’s kidnapping occurred on February 9. For this fact the FBI issued a search file and has an open investigation in Mexicoin which the Colima State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and the Republic’s Attorney General’s Office (FGR) collaborate.
