What began as a report of the disappearance of six women in the city of Celaya, Guanajuato, became a grim discovery when state authorities discovered the charred bodies of five of the victims.
In this regard, the attorney general of Guanajuato, Carlos Zamarripa Aguirre, pointed out that after a series of investigations by forensic archaeologists and geneticists, it was possible to determine that the charred remains correspond to five of the six women who were previously kidnapped by members of organized crime.
“It was possible to establish that the members of this criminal cell were the ones who transferred the six young women to Juventino Rosas, to a place where they were ultimately deprived of their lives,” the official said at a press conference.
Regarding those responsible for this crime, who have already been arrested, he indicated that a criminal cell from the state of Tamaulipas was dealt withmade up of six men, one of them a Honduran national, who were at the service of a local criminal group, presumably the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel (CSRL).
The prosecutor pointed out that firearms were seized from the six detainees, which according to ballistics studies are related to various executions that are included in investigation folders; In addition, they found useful cartridges, tactical equipment, and drugs.
It was on March 7 when Mariana Gutiérrez Guzmán, 19 years old; Yoselin Daniela Zamorano Macías, 20, mother of a two-month-old baby; Sandra Daniela Paredes González, 24 years old; Paulina Berenice Resendiz Martinez, 25 years old; Rosa María Ramírez Ayala, 42, and Gabriela Barbosa Ruiz, 48, disappeared.
The last time they were seen they were going together towards the San José de Guanajuato communityin Celaya, which borders the Santa Rosa de Lima community.
For their part, relatives of Yoselin Daniela Zamorano Macías indicated that the prosecutor’s office has not informed them of her whereabouts, so that in the ministerial investigations she continues to be missing, according to the newspaper El Universal.
On the outskirts of the Municipal Presidency, Yoselin’s family demanded that the authorities inform them of his whereabouts. “My niece’s body is still missing,” said one of the protesters. “Where is she?”
Another Yoselin aunt also asked that they be told the truth about where her niece is, because first they were told that there were six bodies located and now there are only five.
