Mexico celebrates its successful passage in the World Baseball Classic. The Aztec team did not start this tournament on the right foot, but it has come from less to more and defeated a star-studded Puerto Rican team. The Mexican National Team knew how to come from behind to take the victory 5-4 over the Puerto Ricans. For the first time in history, Mexico is in the semifinals of this tournament.

The first inning loomed a bitter night for the team led by Benjamín Gil. Julio Urías, star pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, could not contain the ferocious offense of Puerto Rico in the first inning. The Mexican pitcher allowed four runs, including two home runs.

But the Mexican team did not give up and was slowly discounting on the scoreboard. With one run in the second inning, another in the fifth, and three in the seventhMexico turned the score around without failing to highlight the good pitching that kept the Puerto Rican bats dry.

Mexico accumulates four victories in the World Baseball Classic against the teams of United States, Great Britain, Canada and Puerto Rico. The only Aztec slip due against Colombia on the first day. Those led by Benjamín Gil will face Japan on Tuesday, March 21 for a place in the grand final.

The memes celebrated the victory of Mexico

Through social networks, users began to share curious images alluding to the Mexican victory. Some took the audacity to point to this Aztec team as an example for El Tri. Julio Urías also had some memes to his name.
