The Huntington Park Police Department released new videos Monday related to the case of a double amputee man who was killed on January 26 by an officer. after stabbing a pedestrian and threatening to throw a knife at the police officers.
In the new images, captured by a surveillance camera at a nearby service station, is seen when Anthony Lowe, out of his wheelchair and limping on his amputated limbs, approaches a man from behind and stabs him in the torso for seemingly no reason..
in another video Lowe is seen trying to get away from three officers on two limbs and with a knife in hand before the shooting.

Lowe’s family criticized the January 26 shooting and said Anthony did not pose a threat to officers due to his disabled status. Lowe’s relatives are expected to file a lawsuit against the Huntington Park police, seeking the prosecution of the officers.
For now It’s unclear if Lowe and the stabbed pedestrian knew each other or if something happened to trigger the attack.. In the video, the victim can be seen walking away from Lowe and not looking at him before the stabbing occurs.
Moments after the attack, a police presence was requested and officers were on the scene within minutes.

In the video, three officers can be seen trying to stop Lowe, who is limping down the street with a knife in his hand. In a moment, is seen when he turns to the policemen, who have their weapons drawn, and Lowe raises the knife in a threatening gesture or possibly with the intention of throwing it at them.
At that point, according to Huntington Park police, the officers opened fire on Lowe.
Authorities described the weapon as a 12-inch butcher knife.
The new video was unveiled by Huntington Park Police Department Chief Cosme Lozano a week and a half after the incident.. The police chief refused to give more details about the status of the investigation into the case.
“I fully recognize the need for answers and the urge to rush to judgment, but we must allow peace and patience to guide us through this process,” Lozano said.
The investigation is being conducted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. and for now it shows that the officers fired two shots at Lowe, who refused to drop the knife.
Lowe’s family felt that there were other resources the officers could have used to subdue him without resorting to deadly force.
Attorney Annee Della Donna, who represents Lowe’s mother, said officers may have used their vehicles to restrain him or use rubber bullets.
