“After some very serious conversations with Carlos (Correa) about the upcoming World Baseball Classic, cs a group we decided that the best thing for him was not to participate in the tournament”, reported the president of the Twins baseball operations department Derek Falvey, who specified that this was a “complicated” decision for the Puerto Rican player.

“He takes a lot of pride representing his country and really considered options to make this work.” the Twins executive pointed out about Correa’s participation.

As for the “concerns” of the team, it is based on the fact that if Correa competed in the tournament that will last until March 21, his participation in a competition of this type would not allow him to be in full condition to start the Major League season.
