Waiting for the administration led by Joe Biden to grant its authorization, The General Atomics company, an American arms manufacturer, has offered the Ukrainian government two “Reaper MQ-9” type drones, which are valued at tens of millions of dollars.

According to The Wall Street Journal, The attractiveness of the offer is that, if accepted, the government headed by Volodimir Zelenski would only pay $1 for each of the devices.

However, the agreement would imply that the Ukrainian authorities allocate about $10,000,000 dollars to move the drones from the American Union to Western Europe and at least another $8,000,000 dollars per year for the maintenance of said technological devices, as well as several more that at the moment are not in a condition to be used to combat the Russian army.

In fact, L.Inden Blue, CEO of General Atomics, has already had a conversation with the Ukrainian Defense Attaché in Washington.where he also raised the possibility of installing a ground control station to operate the necessary drones and strengthen support for the men who are in the line of combat with the aim of safeguarding sovereignty.

Without going into details about the agreements they would establish with the Ukrainian government, Mark Brinkley, spokesman for the drone manufacturer, said that, in order to try to deal with Vladimir Putin’s armed forces, technological support is soon required.

“General Atomics has been discussing the requirements of the Ukrainian armed forces with their government for many months and remains committed to supporting them in any way possible,” he said.

In this regard, The Wall Street Journal announced that, Over the past year, the US government has provided the Ukrainian military with about 700 tactical drones, but none of the devices were armed.

In this sense, the “Reaper MQ-9” model can fulfill more warlike tasks, since in addition to having greater speed and range, it can remain in operation for up to a full day without the need for an energy recharge.
