What began as a report of theft of a vehicle in the tourist destination of Acapulco, became a terrible confrontation between police and criminalsas well as a macabre discovery.

According to the first reports from the local authorities, Ministerial Police agents stopped two people who were aboard a taxi that had previously been reported stolen.

Upon being discovered, The criminals attacked the uniformed men with firearms.who repelled the aggression and thus a shootout broke out in one of the most important streets of the port.

In the end, the agents managed to kill the criminals and the area was secured by elements of the Guerrero police and the Army, while personnel from the state prosecutor’s office were in charge of the corresponding investigations.

It was at the time of checking the vehicle that a terrifying finding was made, as the experts found in the luggage rack of the taxi the body of a man killed with a tourniquet and his hands tied.

In this way, it was determined that the attackers probably stole the vehicle to leave the body somewhere in the port, while the investigation work continues to identify the identity of the victim.

It should be noted that this execution joins six other crimes reported during the last hours of January 31 in the city of Acapulco, with which the tourist destination closed the first month of the year with a total of 70 homicides allegedly related to organized crime.

The figure represents an increase of 22 more violent deaths than in December of last year, when the Acapulco Public Security Secretariat reported 48 murders.
