Los Angeles FC (LAFC), a team that has Carlos Vela as the top figure and was champion of the last MLS season, announced this Wednesday the transfer of Colombian striker Cristian ‘Chicho’ Arango Pachuca of Liga MX, a group that saw its striker Nicolás Ibáñez leave their ranks to join Tigres de la UANL. Nevertheless, What caught my attention the most was the way he presented himself.
Arango was introduced thanks to a parody made by Shakira’s song team, the one where he sends different hints to Gerard Pique. Besides, all this comes after various rumors where there was talk of the possible arrival of the Colombian striker to the Mexican team that is in the Clausura 2023 of the Liga MX.
“I am very grateful to everyone at LAFC. Thank you to all the fans and 3252 (the cheerleader) for all the beautiful moments you we were able to share and for becoming champions together”, said the striker.
The player who was with the Colombian National Team in the last friendly against the United States is one of the most loved in the city of Los Angeles, after being LAFC’s top scorer in the last two seasons (14 goals in the first and 18 in the second counting the regular season and the MLS playoffs).
In addition, Arango, 27, also collaborated especially in the second season, in which the Los Angeles team he managed to win the double of the MLS Cup and the MLS Supporters’ Shield (this last trophy rewards the best team during the regular season).
“’Chicho’ will forever be an important part of LAFC and we wish him and his family the best in the new phase of his career in Pachuca”, said the co-president of the Los Angeles team, John Thorrington at a press conference.
