After the judge Stephen M Murphy ruled that there was no reason to keep the video of the hammer attack private victim the husband of the former speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi at her San Francisco residence last fall, Paul Pelosi’s attacker made a very strange call from the prison where he is being held.
David DePepe called the KTVU newsroom from prison of San Francisco County minutes after a San Francisco court released police body camera footage showing the brutal attack.
According to the media, the call was unexpected Y David DePepe indicated to one of his reporters that he had an important message to share with the audience; he allowed the message to be recorded, but asked that his statements not be questioned because he did not want to jeopardize his case.
During the call, which lasted less than five minutes, apologized for not going further “I want to apologize to everyone. I was wrong. What I did was really bad. I’m so sorry I didn’t get more of them. It’s my fault. No one else is to blame. Should have come better…prepared“.
Weeks ago, DePepe indicated that he attacked Paul Pelosi because people’s individual liberties are under attack “The people who kill him have names and addresses, so I got their names and addresses so I could pay them a little visit… have a heart-to-heart about their bad behavior.”
Video of the attack released on Friday shows DePape holding a hammer as police responded to a 911 call from Pelosi’s house in Pacific Heights. DePape hits Pelosi over the head, knocking her to the ground.
DePepe faces state charges of attempted murder and elder abuseas well as federal charges in federal court for kidnapping.
