Convoy of hitmen attacked a police station in San Luis Potosí

San Luis Potosí experienced an episode of violence when a convoy of hitmen stormed the Municipal Police Command of Tamasopo for several minutes, located in the region of the Huasteca potosina. For this reason, elements of the State Civil Guard appeared in the area repelling the aggression.

The authorities have not ruled on the matter, so it is not known exactly what happened, nor has it been reported if there were any casualties on either side or if a hitman was arrested for this attack.

Local media indicate that around ten o’clock at night, several vans with initials of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) labeled on the doors, entered the municipal seat with heavily armed individuals and began to shoot at the headquarters located next to the municipal presidency.

Due to the calm that prevails in the community, the armed attack was heard throughout the municipal seat, causing the panic of the inhabitantswho for several minutes heard incessant shots.

It should be noted that It is the second attack on the facilities of the Tamasopo Municipal Policebecause in November 2021 the same command was attacked.

The most recent attack occurred three weeks after a criminal video surveillance network was dismantled at various points in the municipality of Tamasopo. The State Civil Guard secured eight video cameras during the operation.

It was thanks to citizen reports on illegal activities in specific points that the cameras were located, which were allegedly operated by an organized crime group, although it was not specified which one.
