Adrift Mexican, what happened to Johan Vásquez and his promising career in Italy?

Wilson Florez

Johan Vásquez was one of the defenders with the best projection in Mexican soccer. The Aztec left the Liga MX to Genoa of Italy. After an excellent season, The Aztec was transferred to Cremonese so that he could continue acquiring filming in Serie A. But after half a season with the club, Vásquez has been relegated in the squad.

Genoa were relegated, but one of the team’s highest points was Johan Vásquez and his defensive performance. This allowed the Mexican to be loaned to Cremonese, a recently promoted club that seeks to stay in the Italian first division. But the Mexican is not in the coaching staff’s plans and is paying the consequences.

Do not justify Johan Vásquez that “he has not been active” when he was playing he also made rude mistakes, stop the lie, for the good of his career he should return to Mexico, they have no level to continue in Europe pic.twitter.com /gCVm36FFvF

The former defender of Pumas de la UNAM has not had many minutes on the field. According to information compiled by Fútbol Total MX, the loan condition is what affects Johan Vásquez at the club. The strategist would not look favorably on having a footballer who will leave the institution in a few months. Under these circumstances, Vásquez loses the fight with players who belong 100% to the team.

A season to forget

Johan Vásquez was a great alternative for the defense of the Mexican National Team, but his lack of rhythm slows down his projection and it detracts from merits to be part of El Tri in new processes. The former Pumas de la UNAM player has only played 11 games in the season and accumulates 733 minutes on the fielda quota that generates little interest among clubs that previously wanted to acquire it.

It is not to remember that Vásquez’s file still belongs to Genoa. The club signed a link with the Mexican until June 2026. In the event that Genoa fails to rise to the top flight (third in Serie B), a new loan would be among Vásquez’s options to continue his career. Leipzig would have been among the candidates months ago.
