Belonging to a police corporation in Mexico implies a great risk, which increases if it is about states where there is a presence of drug trafficking, as in the case of Michoacán.

It is in that entity where he recently registered an ambush against agents of the State Prosecutor’s Office and the National Guardwho carried out surveillance tours in the municipality of Tacámbaro.

According to local media, the attack was repelled by the uniformed officers, who were supported minutes later by elements of the Army and the Michoacán Public Security Secretariat.

This forced the attackers to try to escape, but during a search operation seven of them were located and arrested. Also, a camp was located where tactical equipment, six firearms and other explosive devices were seized.

So far, several alleged perpetrators of the events have been arrested and firearms have been seized.

The detainees were transferred to the city of Morelia and will be placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), to carry out investigations to determine the reason for the attack and the criminal group to which they belong.

According to the newspaper El Sol de Zamora, this attack left an element of the National Guard woundedwho was helped and transferred to a hospital to receive medical attention, although his state of health is unknown.

It should be noted that the violence in Michoacán is attributed to the activities of criminal groups such as The Michoacan Family and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

In 2022, it closed as the fourth state with the most homicides in the country, accumulating a total of 2,423 murders, according to figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP).
