Lewis Hamilton is one of the great Formula One drivers who will be framed in history. The Briton excelled in his career aboard a Mercedes AMG F1 Petronas. Success has accompanied Hamilton since its early days in engines, but in his personal life he had to endure blows and humiliation because of racism.

“At the age of six, he was already bullied. in that school I was one of three colored kids and the older, stronger kids bullied me.Hamilton revealed on a podcast with Jay Shetty.

The seven-time world champion recalled some of those scenes that marked his childhood due to the mistreatment and humiliation received. “They constantly hit me, they threw things at me, like bananas and the people who used the word with ‘n’ (nigger), so calm. People call you mulatto and you don’t know where you fit in. It was hard for me,” she recounted.

“I’ve been doing it for 30 years. When you stop doing it, what’s going to be the same? Nothing is going to match being on a circuit, being in a race, being at the top of this sport and being in front of the grid and that emotion that I get from it. (…) When I retire there will be a big void, so I’m trying to focus and find things that can replace it and are just as rewarding”, he concluded.
