Five members of a family in Veracruz are shot aboard their truck, including two minors

An armed commando aboard three vehicles sowed terror in the port of Veracruz, chasing a truck through the streets of the tourist destination until it caught up with it and killed all its crew members, including two minors.

According to the first reports, the victims are two women, a boy, a girl and the man who was driving the vanon whom, apparently, the attack was directed.

The chase ended when the driver lost control and crashed into a pole. It was then that the hitmen got out of their units and fired at close range to finish off their victims.

Some inhabitants who were in the place recorded this terrible aggression and shared the video on social media, where it quickly went viral.

The murdered man was later identified as Fernando Pérez Vega, alias “El Pino”a local politician who was a candidate for mayor of the municipality of Coxquihui, and who was being investigated for various crimes.

In a press conference, the governor of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García, pointed out that, according to the first investigations, it is presumed that the attack was a settling of scores between two criminal gangs that dispute the region.

“Given the unfortunate events in the municipality of the port of Veracruz, we have already implemented the coordinated operations with the federal forces, and the State Prosecutor’s Office is conducting preliminary investigations that point to a settling of scores between organized crime gangs,” said the official. .

Also, regretted that in these adjustments between gangs there are innocent victims, for which he promised justice. “Sadly, innocent lives are being taken in this. There will be justice and we will not allow for any reason they reach these levels that even with their families they end up paying for their supposed revenge, ”he said.

It should be noted that, in June 2021, when “El Pino” was a candidate for mayor of Coxquihui, two guards from his campaign home were shot dead without the reasons for that crime being disclosed.
