Two related shootings in the coastal community of Half Moon Bay, left at least seven people dead in an act of violence that comes just two days after 11 people were killed in another mass shooting in Monterey Park.
The alleged shooter, a 67-year-old community resident, opened fire at two rural locations a mile apart, shooting some of the victims in front of children living nearbywho had recently left school.
The Sheriff’s Office is responding to a shooting incident with multiple victims in the area of HWY 92 and the HMB City limits. Media is requested to approach from the north and stage at the Half Moon Bay substation at 537 Kelly Ave. in Half Moon Bay

According to NBC reports, four victims were found throughout a neighborhood in the city of Half Moon Bay, one more was transported to Stanford Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, according to the county sheriff.
Shortly after that discovery, three more victims were found dead at a separate scene in the area, according to the sheriff’s office.
Later, Authorities confirmed the arrest of the main suspect in the shooting, Zhao Chunli, a 67-year-old Half Moon Bay resident.while the exact moment of the arrest was spread on social networks.

“This type of shooting is horrible; it’s a tragedy we hear about all too often,” San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus said. “That children witness this is indescribable.”
The suspect, believed to be a worker at one of the nearby farms or nurseries, was the same as the victims, authorities said.
