Due to a reform appeal presented in Spain by the lawyers of the woman who denounced Conor McGregor for an alleged physical assault, the case against the UFC fighter has been resumed.
According to what was reported by Diario Marca, the alleged victim will soon have to ratify his statement about the events that occurred on July 17 in a private session given by the fighter in Ibiza on the occasion of his 34th birthday.
Apparently, McGregor would have beaten a woman in her 40s on his yacht, who was rescued at sea by a Red Cross boat. The alleged victim allegedly suffered bruises and several fractures in one of his hands.
After being treated at the Formentera hospital, the woman proceeded to file a complaint about what had happened, but due to the language barrier she decided to return to Ireland and was unable to formalize the accusation in Spain and the case was dismissed (suspended).
However, once the woman set foot on Irish soil, she was able to make a statement to the authorities for more than six hours and start the case against Conor McGregor for assault. This would have generated that there is a double process and the Police departments of both countries are collaborating with the investigation that is now underway.
The alleged victim’s complaint would be accompanied by photographs and medical evidence of the injuries suffered that night of July 17.
What happened at Conor McGregor’s party?
According to the complainant’s version of events, she went to the wrestler’s party at a nightclub in Ibiza and then they moved in a limousine with the Irishman’s wife and two mutual friends.
Everyone arrived on the UFC champion’s yacht to continue the celebration, where they swam in the sea and watched the sunrise. After all this, a discussion would have been generated that caused McGregor’s violent reaction against his compatriot.
