Authorities execute search warrant in Hemet at the home of the alleged shooter in the fatal shooting in Monterey Park

The authorities they executed a search order at the home in Hemet of Huu Can Tran, 72 years oldsuspected shooter in a ballroom shooting Saturday night in the city of Monterey Park that left 10 people dead and 10 more wounded.

“Tran was a good guy. He would see him go in and out on his little motorcycle, occasionally in his truck. He would stop to pet your dog, and everyone here thought he was a quiet little guy. People I’ve spoken to are stunned that he was involved in this. He pretty much lived by himself, and I guess he taught dancing or something like that, ballroom dancing.” a neighbor of the suspect who gave his name as Pat Roth told the Inland News.

The neighbor mentioned that Tran had been living there for about a year..

No details were released about the raid at the home of the alleged shooter.

Apparently, according to the police. About 20 minutes after the shooting, Huu Can Tran also attempted to enter another dance hall in Alhambra, 2 miles away from Monterey Park.but was disarmed by two bystanders.

Monterey Park is a predominantly Asian community.

Five men and five women died at the scene of the shooting.Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said. The injured people were taken to various hospitals and were reported in stable to critical conditions.

For the night of this Sunday, it was reported that seven of the injured remained hospitalized.

Around noon this Sunday, in a parking lot in Torrance, authorities identified a white cargo van, allegedly related to the Monterey Park shooting and the suspect who tried to enter the ballroom at Alhambra.

The vehicle was surrounded by patrol cars and SWAT squad units, and moments after being ambushed, officers reported hearing a gunshot. Upon checking the truck, Tran was discovered dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside his vehicle.
