Finally the promising talent of the midfielder Alejandro Zendejas will not be at the command of the Mexican National Team, the country where he was born, but with the United Statesa country where from the minors he cultivated a good preparation and shared with other current figures such as Christian Pulisic.
The US Soccer or United States Soccer Federation, aware of Zendejas’s desire to wear the El Tri shirt (and was even present at several friendlies), had been insisting on him since 2022, but he always resisted, waiting for an opportunity that never came, since Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino left him out of his controversial list for the Qatar 2022 World Cup after the controversial case of the ‘unsigned papers’.
The truth is Alejandro Zendejas is happy with his decision and through social networks he shared his news in training from the ‘Stars and Stripes’ set, replicating a photograph of himself in the stories.
The call to the US training sessions was even approved by the Águilas del América and reaffirmed by coach Fernando ‘Tano’ Ortiz at a press conference last weekend. Asked about the Zendejas – United States controversy, the Argentine coach did not want to get fully involved and reaffirmed that he has the permission to play in the National Team that he wants.
Alejandro Zendejas’ re-debut is expected to take place next Wednesday against Serbia. After this he could play on Saturday January 28 against Colombia.
