A VSurveillance video from Upper Cuts barbershop in Loma Linda showed robbers getting out of a van and trying to enter the store.

The Thieves are breaking into businesses to rob their ATMs.

Anthony Romo, who works at the barbershop, said his shop was targeted by muggers twice.

The first time it was a failed attempt, but on the second attempt they managed to enter, although the result was not what they expected.

“They came Monday morning at 3:23 a.m. and this time, they opened my door frame, entered with their crowbar, ran to my ATM, and discovered that my ATM was actually a candy machine. So, they wrapped up all their straps and instantly just walked away,” Romo said.

Papa Joe’s Sports Bar restaurant in Moreno Valley was also attacked.

“They got in through our window with a crowbar and took a big tie-down strap that they wrapped around the ATM, hooked it to their truck and drove off. They detached the ATM from the metal bar, then lifted it up, placed it in the truck, wrapped everything up, reattached the tie-down straps, and were gone in less than five minutes.”said Bonnie Taylor, an employee at Papa Joe’s Sports Bar.

Romo and Taylor describe the assailants’ car as a white Ford Ranger and warned others about the robberies.

“Noticeable paint damage to hood, right side body frame damage, low tow hitch with chain hanging from bottom,” Romo described to the getaway vehicle.
