One of the Mexican places most devastated by violence is Michoacán, since in every corner of the state illegal acts are committed that affect the entire population. The most recent case was the murder of the deputy director of the Marcos Castellanos community Police, just a few meters from the municipal presidency, an area with a strong police presence.
Is about Hermes Eloy Escobar Cholico, who was killed by an armed command when he was on duty in San José de Gracia. According to the first reports, the police command was outside the headquarters in a portal in front of the main square when individuals came to shoot him and then escaped from the place.
After the homicide, there was a strong police mobilization in the surroundings of the site, in order to locate the murderers of the police command. Elements of the Civil Guard, National Guard and the Mexican Army participated in the operation, without any arrest being reported so far.
The Michoacán State Attorney General’s Office was in charge of the corresponding proceedings, as well as the removal of the body, it will also carry out the respective investigation.

In Mexico, the murders of police officers are a constant that during 2022 left 393 victims, Zacatecas being the entity where most of these crimes were committed.
But 2023 paints to be a year with similar black figures, because it just started and there were murders of security elements. A situation similar to that experienced in Michoacán occurred in Acapulco, when the chief of the Auxiliary Police was assassinated a few meters from the municipal presidency.
With this, it is possible to see the impunity with which criminals act, sure of dominating the squares, believing themselves to be the owners of the lives of those who circulate through them.
Another state in which violence against the police has become very latent in these first days is Jalisco, since so far the attacks have left four elements down.
