The representative of the Republican Party, María Salazar urged the nation to treat undocumented immigrants already living in the United States with dignityDespite the fact that his request was well received by some colleagues, a group of conservatives went for the jugular.
The request of the Florida representative was made in the World Economic Forum in DavosSwitzerland, where he also pointed out that after closing the borders of the United States, what remains is to give decent treatment to the tens of millions of people who live in the country without citizenship.
“It is time to seal the border. put order Let’s see who gets in and who doesn’t. And then turn around and give it dignity, that doesn’t mean a path to citizenship, that means including them and making them worthy members of our community,” Salazar said.
“Those are the people I represent,” said the congresswoman from Davos. “We are talking about 13 to 15 million people, who are mostly Hispanic, I would say 85 percent, who speak my language, look like me and sound like me, who are contributing to the economy of this country. And they live in the shadows.
The Hispanic’s request provoked the anger of the most conservative Republicans. “Republican María Salazar traveled to Davos, Switzerland, to request amnesty for 15,000,000 illegal immigrants in the United States. Some users disagreed with Salazar’s message and thus they expressed their annoyance “María Salazar does not represent immigrants, she represents US citizens. “You know, the same citizens who pay a salary.”
Political consultant Ryan Girdusky added: “A comet could be approaching Earth and Maria Salazar would yell, ‘protect illegal immigrants first.'”
