Last Friday the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) alerted about a possible alteration in the safety of the covid 19 vaccine manufactured by Pfizer and BioNTech. During the studies, a type of stroke was detected in recently vaccinated 65-year-olds.

Although the body pointed out that it is unlikely that this drawback represents a lethal risk in all those vaccinated. The analysis showed signs that people who received the bivalent vaccine could suffer strokes on continuous days. Despite this, the agency asked the population to continue to keep control of the covid vaccine up to date, to avoid the risk of infection and spread of the virus.

Likewise, the CDC indicated that until now this security alert has not been presented in the reinforcement of Moderna’s bivalent. Researchers continue to compare and study the relationship of these alterations with the medical histories of those vaccinated, to determine if underlying diseases may be one of the reasons this is occurring.

For its part, Pfizer ensures that this type of stroke has not been observed in other countries. Therefore, The US Agency for Disease Control and Prevention does not suggest changes in vaccination practices. “It is highly unlikely that the signal in VSD represents a true clinical risk, we believe it is important to share this information with the public,” they state in a statement.

The data collected to date will continue to be evaluated in the coming days by the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.s at a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Vaccines and Related Biologicals that is expected to take place on January 26.
