At the beginning of this year 2023, The government of President Joe Biden reinvigorated the operation of the mobile application that bears the name ‘CBP One’which will allow Central American migrants, who are stranded at the southern border on the Mexican side, to schedule their appointments to request asylum in the United States.

Through this application, which is available for IOS and Android devices, people of Venezuelan, Haitian, Guatemalan, Salvadoran and Mexican nationality, among others, will be able to make a prior registration where they will inform the US authorities of the reasons why they want to cross the border between Mexico and the United States.

“The CBP One app serves as a single portal to a variety of CBP services. that allows users to be quickly and conveniently directed to the functions they need by answering a series of guided questions”, indicates the introduction of the application in the section “about this app” when trying to download it.

The application that was created since October 28, 2020 and that it is relaunched by the US government, resurfaces from this January 12 after the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on January 5 new measures to process people who request asylum at the border ports of entry between the US and Mexico and who seek to be exempt from Title 42.

“Using CBP One will streamline the experience at the port of entrycan reduce wait times, and allows a safe and orderly process for ports of entry and all travelers, ”says the Office of Customs and Border Protection (CBP, for its acronym in English).
