The Mexican Santiago Giménez continues to demonstrate his talent in the Eredivisie and scored a great goal this Sunday against Groningen for Feyenoord’s 3-0 that establishes itself at the top of the league in the Netherlands.

The former Cruz Azul striker came on in the 72nd minute when the game was 2-0 by Danilo. Giménez converted the goal receiving a split ball from behind and then he got rid of an opponent to go hand in hand against the rival goalkeeper to sign his goal and seal the 3-0 Feyenoord in the 90th minute.

With this score he reached 3 goals in the Eredivisie in 14 games played, although in most of them he has entered the final minutes as a change to the attackers of the Eredivisie leader. For the Europa League, the Mexican has 4 goals in 6 games with the Dutch team that qualified as first in their group to the round of 16.

Benefited by the setbacks of Ajax and PSV Eindhoven, who did not go beyond a draw in their respective commitments of the sixteenth round of the Netherlands League, Feyenoord achieved a victory at the Euroborg stadium, rounded off with a goal from the Mexican.

Arne Slot’s team now has four points of income compared to AZ Alkmaar, which has become the main pursuer after beating Heerenveen. Cinco takes out Ajax and PSV, third and fourth respectively.

After the victory this Sunday, January 15, Giménez’s team reached 37 points in the table and took a four-point difference from AZ Alkmaar and 5 points to Ajax Amsterdam.

The next game on January 22 will be very important for the Mexican striker’s club because he will face his compatriot Jorge Sanchez’s Ajax at home and in which they will try to get a greater difference in points or allow them to get closer to them in the classification table.
