A new winter storm will hit southern California this Sunday night, accompanied by heavy rainfall and snowfallin addition to intense winds, conditions that raise concerns about the risk of more flash floods and power outages.
The region was impacted this Saturday night by a storm, and by this Sunday morning the sky cleared, but the most significant rains are forecast to return at approximately 5:00 p.m..
Up to an inch of rain is expected in the Los Angeles area.while mountain communities could see up to three inches of precipitation and snow fall at higher elevations.
The forecasts indicate that the rain will be present during the night of this Sunday and that the conditions may improve during the morning of this Monday.
This Sunday, Los Angeles and Orange counties have an average maximum temperature of about 60 degrees, with precipitation throughout the night and that can reach up to an inch.
In the valleys and Inland Empire will also see heavy rain, up to an inch in intensity and with a maximum temperature of 56 degrees.
The beaches are not far behind and conditions of intense waves are forecast, with waves that can be between 4 and 10 feet high.and with the possibility that the thermometers reach up to 61 degrees of maximum temperature.
In the mountains, a maximum temperature of 40 degrees is forecast for the communities located in these regions, with forecasts of heavy rain of up to three inches and heavy snow falling from 7,000 feet above sea level.
For this Monday, up to three more inches of rain are forecast and the snowfall will start at 5,000 feet.
In the deserts they will have an approximate maximum temperature of 53 degrees, with estimated rainfall of 1 to 2 inches, accompanied by heavy rain gusting up to 60 miles per hour. Similar conditions are forecast for this Monday.
