Left-handed pitcher Julio Urías will be in his eighth year in the Major Leagues in 2023 and report that for this season he avoided arbitration and He will earn $14.25 million with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Urías has become one of the best pitchers in the last two seasons. In addition, he has been the pitcher with the most victories (37) and with the best ERA in all of baseball with 2.16, thus becoming the first Mexican to do so in all time.
In the 2022 season he finished with a record of 17 wins and 7 losses in 31 starts. The Mexican pitched 175 innings to finish with a 2.16 ERA and a 0.960 whip. ORRías was among the finalists for the National League Cy Young Award, but Sandy Alcantara of the Miami Marlins ended up winning it.
The culichi avoided arbitration for 2023 just like he did in 2022 when he signed for $8 million. Urías can be in free agency after the end of this year’s season and become one of the most sought-after left-handers in baseball.
The Mexican is 49-17 with a .742 win-loss percentage and a 2.82 ERA in 599.2 innings pitched. Add 593 strikeouts and 169 walks and a WHIP of 1,094.
Other Dodgers players who signed and avoided arbitration include: Walker Buehler, Will Smith, Dustin May, Trayce Thompson, Yency Almonte, Brusdar Graterol, Evan Phillips and Caleb Ferguson.
This year, Urías will have the opportunity to surpass 50 victories in the Majors with just 101 starts in the MLB. The Dodgers finished as the best team in the regular season in 2022, though they failed in the Divisional Round in the Playoffs.
