Prior to the match for the second day of the 2023 Closing Tournament of the MX League between Tigres UANL and the Tuzos de Pachuca, the Argentine forward Nicolás Ibáñez confirmed the negotiations to disembark in the feline group and make a pair with André Pierre Gignac.

“My agent is taking care of that, I’m calm, thinking about the game and we’ll see how everything goes. Who wouldn’t like to play in one of the big teams in Mexico, it would be nice, but my agent is already taking care of that,” he said in statements to the press after his arrival in Nuevo León.

The striker was full of praise for French attacker André Pierre Gignac and expressed his desire to play alongside him. “Obviously, he is the best player in the league and who wouldn’t want to play with him, but I’m still in Pachuca, so I can’t tell you anything else.”

This Sunday, January 15, those led by Diego Cocca will face off against the current champions. About this and his negotiation, Ibáñez made it clear that he will have to sit down with his agent. “Surely I will speak later with my representative and he will already have something clearer for me.”

Negotiations between Tigres UANL and Pachuca for Ibáñez

According to what was reported by the MedioTiempo portal, the Pachuca board of directors confirmed that the royal team’s offer was rejected due to the impossibility of finding a guarantee replacement for the South American striker.

Apparently, from the university squad they would be studying making another offer for Ibáñez, who was one of the top scorers in the last 2022 Liga MX Opening Tournament with 11 goals.

However, Tigres has been moving token to get a guaranteed striker. A few days ago it was confirmed that the royal team has been on the lookout for the Colombian from Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga, Rafael Santos Borré.

It was the player’s own agent who confirmed the contacts. However, the economic claims of the Bavarians and the offer of the Aztec club have been quite distant.
