This January 14th the 71st edition of miss Universea competition in which 84 candidates from different parts of the world competed for the most precious crown in beauty pageants, but was the representative of USA, R’Bonney Gabriel 28 years old, who became the undisputed winner.
The ceremony that took place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in the City of New Orleans, United States, began spectacularly with a dynamic catwalk in which all the participants walked the stage proudly expressing the name of their country; to later publicize the list with the 16 most beautiful women in the world, among which were placed the representatives of Puerto Rico, Haiti, Australia, the Dominican Republic, Laos, South Africa, Portugal, Canada, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, Curaçao, India , Venezuela, Spain, United States and Colombia.
One of the moments of tension was experienced during the catwalk in a gala dress, in which each of the beauty queens showed their skills before the jury and attendees, but Miss Canada suffered a small slip.
Within the Top 5, Latinas once again stood out, occupying 3 positions. Amanda Dudamen from Venezuela was the first to be mentioned; the representative of the United States, R’Bonney Gabriel; Ashley Carino from Puerto Rico, Gabriela Dos Santos from Curaçao and finally andreina martinez from the Dominican Republic completed the list.
The three finalists of the night were Miss Dominican Republic, Miss United States and Miss Venezuela, who faced each other answering the same question, demonstrating that they have integral beauty, leadership and the elegance required to be crowned the most beautiful woman in the universe.
Another of the most significant moments of the night was the speech by the Thai businesswoman Anne Jakrajutatip in which she highlighted that for the first time the organization of the contest was in the hands of a woman, cataloging the moment as “The new era of the platform to celebrate the feminine power”, making it clear that it was time to celebrate gender inclusion and equality.
Likewise, she highlighted her condition as a transgender woman and the path she had to take in which doors were closed to her, she overcame bullying, she chose not to give up.
