Twitter’s latest authoritative internal records release reveals that, in 2020, Representative Adam Schiff’s staff and the Democratic National Committee reportedly pressured Twitter to remove an animated gif related to Joseph R. Biden from the platformthen presidential candidate.

The discomfort of the Democratic politicians derived from a retweet that Donald Trump had given to a digital animation showing Biden with his face contracted and his tongue sticking out.

About, Yoel Roth, then Twitter’s head of Security and Integrity, rejected the request on the grounds that it did not violate media policy.because in the first instance it was a retweeted gif and also because it did not create a “nexus of harm for any of those involved.”

“This is clearly [un] Edited GIF created with a humorous intent. Any reasonable observer could identify that he is manipulated, ”said the manager in an email dated April 27, 2020.

Sloppy Joe is trending. I wonder if it’s because of this. You can tell it’s a deep fake because Jill Biden isn’t covering for him. pic.twitter.com/LMzx7fpMaP

However, Matt Taibbi, co-author of “Twitter Files,” said Schiff’s staff again asked Twitter “quite frequently” to remove the damning tweets.

“The real problem was that [el entonces presidente] Donald Trump retweeted Biden’s image,” Taibbi said.

In this sense, the journalist also cites an email accredited to Adam Schiff’s assistant, which was allegedly sent to Twitter executives to demand a more detailed explanation about their refusal to remove content that could affect the aspirations of the Democratic candidate for The presidency.

“We are prepared to accept that it does not fall within the given policy, but there is a slippery slope concern here, and I think it warrants further explanation from Twitter that this is the case. Because the next iteration of this could easily be more malicious and less obvious,” the text stated.

Following the same line of strategy, Schiff’s office also “repeatedly complained about ‘QAnon-related activity’ often tweeting about other matters,” Taibbi stressed.
