The deployment of security by the Mexican authorities has made organized crime feel pressured, so they devise ways to confront and annihilate their enemies. One of these events occurred in San Luis Potosí, when hitmen ambushed armed forces personnel and murdered three elementsand to achieve this they used cloned patrols.

Both criminals and security forces were circulating on a road in the municipality of Santo Domingo, but the hitmen had one point in their favor, since they were on board fake patrol cars pretending to be from the National Guard (GN), for which they suddenly attacked the military elements, leaving a soldier and two guards dead, in addition to five more wounded.

The elements repelled the aggression and a confrontation broke out. After the events, the wounded were transferred to receive medical attention at a hospital in the municipality of Charcas, which is protected by federal elements that traveled to the area of the attack.

Elements of the State Civil Guard, Investigative Police (PDI) and federal corporations, deployed a security device in the limits of the municipalities of Charcas and Santo Domingo to search for the attackers. For its part, the San Luis Potosí Attorney General’s Office opened an investigation folder for the armed aggression suffered by federal security forces.

Because the aforementioned municipality borders Zacatecas, the governor of San Luis Potosí, Ricardo Gallardo, reported that the ambush was in response to the security shield of the neighboring statein which violence is unleashed.

The president also reported that the cloned patrols of the National Guard with which the security forces were attacked were confiscated, They were equipped with 50-caliber Barret rifles, for the exclusive use of the Army.5,000 cartridges were also seized.

According to the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), at least six criminal groups operate in San Luis Potosí: the Gulf Cartel, the Northeast Cartel, the Germans, the Sinaloa Cartel, the Independents Cartel and the Jalisco Cartel. New Generation (CJNG).

Disputes between different criminals have made San Luis Potosí an insecure state, while the entity’s geographic location makes it desirable for organized crime.
