Former Tigres UANL soccer player immersed in a strong controversy after the disclosure of a video where he allegedly asks for drugs

Through social networks, a video went viral where the former Tigres UANL soccer player, Walter Gaitán, is seen in a disco making a gesture where he allegedly asks for drugs. This clip caused quite a stir among fans.

The audiovisual transcended on the TikTok platform thanks to a user named Shuckespinosa07, who was in charge of uploading it. The clip shows the former royal figure gesturing to another person who is not in the shot. The sign made by Gaitán was interpreted by Internet users as an invitation to consume cocaine.

The video was shared on the social network on Monday, January 9, using as a background extract some words from Diego Armando Maradona in which he said: “What a player I would have been if I hadn’t taken cocaine.”

However, more information is unknown in this regard. The images show the former Necaxa and Veracruz soccer player wearing a sports outfit with a white cap while he holds a glass with a drink.

The clip reached 376,000 views in just over 24 hours, obtained more than 20,000 likes and at least 300 comments from users who did not hesitate to express their opinion.

“El Chueco Gaitán, magical left foot. Copa Libertadores and Club World Cup Champion, Champion in Mexico. Piece of player, I always wanted to see him in America ”; “Before, he gave the passes… Now he asks for them”; “Divine spirit. That just as you surprised us with a goal of glory, that’s how you do it coming out of this. God guide your way”, were some of the reactions of the fans.

Walter Gaitán was also known as ‘El Mago’. Argentine midfielder with a Mexican passport and who was characterized by an exquisite long-distance punch. He made his debut in 1997 in his native country with Rosario Central and two years later he arrived at Villarreal in the Spanish League.

In 2001 he returned to South America to play with Boca Juniors and the following year he signed for Tigres UANL, where he is treated as a legend by all his fans. He was there until 2008. Later he was hired by Necaxa and two years later by Veracruz. His last club would be Atlético Rafaela from Argentina.
