Weeks after Argentina was crowned world champion in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the fury among the fans continues. Through the social network TikTok, the video of a professional makeup artist who transformed her face to look like Lionel Messi went viral.
Lucía Acevedo, 23, posted a video that exceeded two million views and had more than 200,000 likes, in which she made her face look like that of the captain of the Argentina team using only makeup.
In the one-minute audiovisual you can see how Lucía shows the change in her face in just eight transitions until it is similar to Messi’s. In the background, an updated version of the song ‘Muchachos’ is heard.
This display of talent did not go unnoticed by users who did not hesitate to show their support in the comments. “It was beautiful on you, I can’t imagine how long it took you”; “Flawless, queen. Tremendous work”, were some of the reactions.
Among her answers to the users, Lucia said that she had the idea from the beginning, but that she never came to realize it, until after the end of the World Cup. The clip was uploaded a day before the end of 2022.

The scope of the audiovisual was such that the young woman was interviewed by the Argentine media Todo Noticias (TN). Specialized in artistic makeup, Lucía explained that it took nine hours to make the video of just over 60 seconds.
Although he specified that it normally takes between four or five hours, but this time he used the drawing of an anonymous artist that he saw on the Internet and decided to apply the caricature realism technique.
“The makeup came off on the first try. It’s about trusting the process, because until the end, you don’t know how it will turn out, ”said Acevedo, who also confessed in the interview that he had given up his architecture career to pursue his true dream.
