the irish actor Colin Farrel could be nominated for the award oscar for his work on the tape “The Banshees of Inisherin”but it is another recent project that has him very excited: the television series “The Penguin”based on the character he played in the film “The Batman” of 2022.
In an interview to Variety during the Palm Springs International Film Festival Farrell gave many details about the series that features the comic book villain of DC: “The only thing I had an idea of was that I couldn’t explore the character as much as I wanted to (in the movie). There was all this extraordinary work done by (the makeup artists) Mike Marino Y Mike Fontaine and his crew, and I thought that was “the tip of the iceberg” that we were doing in the six or seven scenes that we did in the movie. I was grateful for them, but I wanted more.”
Colin, 46, said it was working again with Marino and Fontaine that encouraged him to fight to make the series a reality: “Honestly, any thoughts I had about an extended series had to do with the work of Mike Marino. She just knew there was a lot to do to the character: age him, rejuvenate him. He’s a genius, Mike, so his work was really the inspiration.” The recordings of “The penguin” will begin in February and the premiere will be on HBO Max.
