The Cruz Azul board of directors caught the attention of Cata Domínguez after he held a Chapo Guzmán-themed party to celebrate his son’s 12th birthday. Faced with this reality, the veteran player apologized publicly and through a statement published on his social networks.

The club’s board of directors apparently spoke with the footballer and advised him to make his apologies public for such an unfortunate event. and for celebrating with the name of a character who has done so much damage to Mexico and for whom violent conflicts continue to take place even after being detained, claiming a large number of fatalities.
“Through this medium, I offer a sincere apology for the images disseminated on my social networks in relation to a children’s party. I acknowledge that these do not contribute to creating a better impression of Mexico and that neither I nor my family promote or justify any type of violence.“, began Domínguez’s statement published through his Instagram account.
“We are people who promote sport in the new generations, in addition to the values and principles of an exemplary institution, such as the Cruz Azul Soccer Club.“, finished.
It should be noted that as confirmed by the Mediotiempo portal, the Disciplinary Commission would be taking action on the matter and for the celebration in which other Cruz Azul footballers also participated. The investigation would be based on apology for the crime.
