A passenger allegedly suffocated a flight attendant while on an Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Brisbaneaccording to the newspaper New York Post.

The flight was due to arrive in Australia at 7:40 am on Friday, but he was forced to detour to Honolulu after the debacle.

Grainy video of the incident captured the end of the confrontation, as Hawaiian police officers boarded to remove the passenger.

An Australian woman whose partner was on the flight told the Gold Coast Bulletin that he was texting her while the bizarre scene was taking place, claiming a man was groping women before being handcuffed and zip-tied to a seat.

“After that, the guy ran around touching the women and apparently lifting their skirts.” said Jacqui Beadle, whose partner was on the flight.

“Some big guys restrained him and the male flight attendants handcuffed and zip ties around his legs. Then they took a bunch of straps and strapped him sideways to a back row seat by himself.”

The man can be heard yelling off-camera in footage captured by another passenger.

“I’m physically aggrieved, I can barely feel my hands,” he is heard shouting, while another passenger says: “He’s crazy, he’s screaming, I hope they take him down.”

Police have yet to comment. The passenger’s nationality is unclear.
