Client shot to death thief in taqueria; the shooting was caught on video

HOUSTON – A customer in a restaurant shot to death a man who was assaulting the establishment located in the southwest of the city Thursday night.

The deadly incident was captured on video by Ranchito Taqueria surveillance camerasaccording to the Houston Police Department.

Police also released photos of the man who shot the suspect as he left the scene without giving a statement to officers who arrived on the scene. The man who fired the shots has not been identified or charged. Investigators want to talk to him about the shooting. The incident occurred at about 11:30 pm at the aforementioned restaurant, which is located at the intersection of S. Gessner and Bellaire.

In the video you can see the moment the suspect enters the place demanding money and the wallets of the customers present, but at a moment when he turns his back on two customers, one of them pulled out a gun and shot him in the back.

The man who fired the shots picked up the customers’ belongings and returned them to them, police said.

The rest of the customers who remained in the restaurant left the place before the Police arrived.

Investigators said the gun the suspect was carrying turned out not to be real, it was a toy.

Police want to speak to the man who shot and the customers who were at the scene. The case remains under investigation.
