Ovid’s criminal career

Product of the second marriage that his father contracted with Griselda Lopez and with whom he had four children: Joaquín, Edgar, Griselda and Ovidio. “El Chapo” already had four other children from his previous marriage to Alejandrina Salazar.

He grew up knowing how the illegal activities of a cartel that had all the power was handled and that, with the arrest of his father – the definitive one, since he had previously escaped from prison twice – began to lose strength.

But Together with his brothers, he took over the Sinaloa Cartel. and now he is one of the ringleaders. In addition, according to the United States Department of Security, both Ovidio and his brother Joaquín de él coordinated actions and headed an arm of the criminal group known as the Guzmán López Transnational Criminal Organization.

“All four are high-ranking members of the Sinaloa Cartel and each is subject to federal indictment for their involvement in illicit drug trafficking,” the State Department announced.

It should be noted that the four targets of US justice also make up a criminal group known as “The Chapitos”. The Office of Homeland Security Investigations said he is wanted for crimes against the United States.

Ovidio is formally charged by US authorities for his possible involvement in trafficking cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana from Mexico and other countries to the United States between 2008 and 2018.
