The United States issues a travel alert to Sinaloa for the capture of Ovidio Guzmán

The arrest of Ovid Guzmanson of the drug dealer Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman This Thursday morning, it caused a series of armed confrontations and vehicle fires that keep the population of Sinaloa in panic.

From the first reports on an operation in the city of Culiacán to arrest the young man also known as “The mouse”several convoys of trucks with armed men began to circulate and practically besieged the state capital.

This wave of violence has not been able to be controlled, and has even moved to other parts of Sinaloa, for which reason the US Embassy in Mexico decided to implement a travel alert for that entity.

Through their social networks, the diplomatic representation urged its citizens not to travel to that state, noting that there are reports of shootings in various parts, including Culiacán, Los Mochis and Guasave.

The Consulate recalled that Sinaloa is classified as level 4 “Do Not Travel”due to the risk it represents at the moment, and asked its citizens to stay very alert to the official account of the embassy to see what the situation in northern Mexico is.

This recommendation joins flight cancellationsas well as operations in general in the state due to the current situation of insecurity.

The Culiacán International Airport reported that it will stop its operations before the arrest operation of Ovidio Guzmán. “For the safety of all passengers, the airport will be closed from 08:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.,” he said on his Twitter account.

For its part, the Mexico City International Airport also reported the cancellation of its flights to the area, at least until tonight.
